HEY to the PURPLE AND GOLDENS of Lancaster High School...
Yep, almost 50 years since we walked that stage at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds, see (Here), so one would think I would know what to call 'us', but I am at a loss. So, for now let's be P & G's because nothing on this page is permanent (your ideas are encouraged to give us a moniker). We don't even have many rules, which means we can have fun here, enjoy some memories, get the latest information about P & G'ers, send challenges to our fellow P & G'ers, and this page is ALL yours. Please feel free to use it.
Those rules are:
- .All your submissions need to be received by Tillie at tilliephilo@sbcglobal.net before the 25th of each month to be in the new post on the following 1st of the month. It will be necessary to use the most current articles with consideration given to the amount of space available. Should you have a question about your submission not being posted, please contact Tillie. This is not a collection, but a monthly occurrence for our edification (sounds like Grace....right???).
- Anything is welcomed since one person can't make the material always interesting, so send your "whatevers" to be shared, knowing your ideas are always welcomed. We will try to avoid the discussion of politics and religion, and the tenor of the page will always be upbeat and positive.
Let me make a suggestion for your calendar. If you use a computer calendar into which you can put a note on December 1st to check the NEW CURRENT EVENTS for the Purple and Golden's, and then ask that to repeat on each month's 1st, you will be a part of 'the informed group'. Should you have to put this reminder on the ol'calendar on the wall/fridge/desk, then remember to carry it over when 2009 gets here. We want you to be a part of this fun and frivolity.
To that famous DISCLAIMER: I will put 'IT' in here after making as good a decision as possible (this may be the best use of Alzheimer's), and then will accept NO more responsibility for it. Please feel free to let me know how to make this page better. Send your notes and news to help inform, or if I offended you, or if there is some other gross error that would spin Miss Griffith in her grave since I truly want it to be for everyone, let me know that also.

That inspiration came as Allen Sellers, Karen (Delong) Schafer, Becky (Snyder) Seesholtz, Darrell Nichols and I forged ahead to update the US Mail and e:mail addresses in the website. YOU responded so well that we have only 26 (plus 8 missing) of our mates with whom we haven't made contact. We will git'em!!!! (forgive me Ida Marie Neeley) since we want all to be a part of LHS59.org which has been updated and continuously enhanced. Don't you just love the Mirage being at hand?"

A big round of APPLAUSE goes to those who have worked so hard at talking with each of you to complete the update. Now, let me ask you to also help because we would love to talk with all who have been missed. Following is that list for you to remember; a brother of someone who you might call to get a good address, phone number, or e:address, or maybe you were a neighbor to the person 55 years ago and remember Auntie Sue, or you might have run into the person at the bowling alley two weeks ago. Please pull out all the stops since we don't want a list of any 'missing' P & G'ers.
This group has been listed as missing for many years, BUT we did find Shirley (Harmon) Duncan recently, so this list is down to seven. We would love to find, or at least learn about, each of those who are listed. Several of these P & G'ers have no picture in the Mirage, so try to remember who they are.

A man was in a terrible accident, and his "manhood" was mangled and torn from his body. His doctor assured him that modern medicine could give him back his manhood, but that his insurance wouldn't cover the surgery, since it was considered cosmetic.
The doctor said the cost would be $3,500 for "small", $6,500 for "medium", and $14,000 for "large."
The man was sure he would want a medium or large, but the doctor urged him to talk it over with his wife before he made any decision.
The man called his wife on the phone and explained their options. The doctor came back into the room, and found the man looking dejected.
"Well, what have the two of you decided?" asked the doctor.
The man answered, "She'd rather remodel the kitchen."

Bonnie (Allen) Drake's husband, Bill lost his battle with cancer in September, 2008. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bonnie during this most difficult of times.

"I have three children, Andy 44. John 42, and Joshua 35. Andy is married to Carol and they don't have any children together, but he is a stepfather and step grandfather. His wife has one daughter Sara who also has a 3 1/2 year old daughter Mattie.
John is married to Nancy and they have three children. Niki 15, Mitchell 11, and Jessica 7. Niki and Mitch are both Honor students. Mitch score 577 out of 619 in math on the 5th grade state test. School is so easy for him that he gets bored with it. Scary. He's also an excellent baseball player. Niki is also a honor student. She loves music, plays the piano and flute. She also plays the bell and chimes at church. Jessica is also a good student, but right now she's just Daddy's little girl.
Joshua lives in San Diego, Ca. He is not married, but I think he is looking for a girl. He's taking Salsa dance lessons.
Andy is a computer administrator for the Lancaster Municipal Courts. John is a superintendent for a company that supervises the building of the big building in Columbus and other cities. He keeps the contractor following the time line of the buildings completion. Joshua is a computer networking administrator for Convair a company in San Diego.
Betty and I feel very fortunate to have good children With good careers. We are Blessed."
I thought that you would like to hear this from me, and not from someone else. I know what you are probably thinking. This is supposed to be a secret, but the truth will eventually come out... Please don't think that I am gossiping.
