The Banquet

The Banquet was held at the Felix Seafood Restaurant, east of Mobile on the Bay... Phil (Banquet Director) provided appropriate introductions with musical support from the Band in the next room.

The Banquet Director made presentations to:

Gary - The Most Consistent Golfer's Award, for outstanding play,

Jon - The Circle of Friendship Award - a tasteful commemorative necklace,

Joe - The Jimmie Legs Award - a beautiful brush,

Tom - The Cupcake Award and the Earnest and Revered Award for Performing the Difficult Duties of Tournament Director - a can of crazy foam.

Phil - The Biggest Turnaround Award - a flashball

Phil - The Congeniality Award - a stroke counter

The Deacon - The Most Colorful Award - a nice box of crayons

The Deacon - The Most Generous Award - for providing, once again, the Commemorative LHS59 Golf Shirts,

Mike - The Lost in Smoke Award - for refusing to drive behind people who drive like slow pokes.

A News Item

Gary and Jon traveled by car to Mobile for the tournament. Along the way, they stopped to practice at the RTJ Cambrian Ridge short course where Gary scored a hole-in-one on Hole 2 on April 20, 2008. The plaque commemorating that event is shown below:

By the way, this year's Trophy Winner, Dick Ellinger, also scored a hole-in-one last summer on a course in Columbus, Ohio.
